| Looking through Tumblr today, I saw a post of this site called I Write Like where you can enter text to have it analyzed to see which famous writer you write like. So I tried it, being very curious! And I did it very, very many times with different posts and all to check how I compare. It's very interesting, and I think you should try it. :3 Also, this post looks huge, but it's mostly the list, I promise. XD And now it's time to list off the authors/characters and ramble. It's really quite funny how erratic my writing "style" can be. XD I'll try to put the authors in order of occurrence, then in alphabetical order for writers that only came up once, maybe twice. I analyzed more posts in some characters more than others though, but I didn't intend that. XD But I was mostly interested in the way I talk/type, so I entered my texts mostly. LAWL. The rest are just roleplay posts, though I also entered profile text, but didn't include that here. Me (posts randomly taken from dA journals, Gaia posts) Most like: James Joyce Second: David Foster Wallace Others: Douglas Adams, Dan Brown, Daniel Defoe, David Foster, William Gibson, Stephen King, Edgar Allan Poe, Kurt Vonnegut
Hazuki Multiple times: Stephen King, David Foster Wallace Others: H. P. Lovecraft
Ririka Multiple times: Dan Brown, David Foster Wallace Others: Stephen King, Vladimir Nabokov, J. K. Rowling
Shiki Multiple times: Chuck Palahniuk, J. D. Salinger Others: Margaret Atwood, Stephen King
Yuiko Most like: Stephen King Others: Dan Brown, Raymond Chandler, Stephen King, J. D. Salinger, David Foster Wallace |
And I went and analyzed a few other characters I played elsewhere, just because :> Condensed it a little this time: Beatrix (aka Ririka's origin, who is younger and also "nicer") David Foster Wallace, Dan Brown, Raymond Chandler; James Joyce, Stephen King, Oscar Wilde
Rukia (Bleach) Stephen King, David Foster Wallace, Raymond Chandler, J. D. Salinger; Agatha Christie, Dan Brown, William Gibson, James Joyce, Stephenie Meyer*, Chuck Palahniuk
Zero (Vampire Knight) H. P. Lovecraft; Margaret Atwood, Arthur C. Clarke, J. K. Rowling |
I find it kinda cool that I often type/talk like James Joyce; I've only read parts of his works, but I want to read Ulysses and some of his other books. I've not actually read books by most of these writers, but seeing them now, I'm intrigued, especially by the ones I have alleged similarities to (of course), like David Foster Wallace. It'd be nice to write more like Nabokov and Poe though. 8D *Also, SMeyer. Lol. I looked at the post I analyzed then. Here are some random excerpts: - ". . .' have fun dealing with my smell'" - " kept her eyes on him the whole time" - " Her smell would be even sweeter" - " smelled as fruity as ever" - " she was . . . interested in . . . reaction to her smell" AKA a lot of smelling. Haha. Don't ask about the context. XDD But yeah, it sorta did remind me of the Twilight books haha. Sorry if I offended anyone or anything. TRY IT OUT NAO. I are curious! Seriously. |

| Hahahaha oh my gawd, Nabokov for Jian. XDD That makes my life, since Nabokov writes with a good chunk of innuendo and...hidden things. XDD;; |

| Because Jian thinks like a smart, adult pervert.
Ria thinks like an emotional teenager kunoichi. |
